It’s been four years since Editors delivered a new album to fans, but the English indie rock band is back with a brand new track. Captivating and contemplative, “Call It In” serves as the first preview of a fresh batch of songs crafted during a series of creative sessions held between bandmates last year.
“We spent a lot of summer ‘25 holed up in rural Gloucestershire, working on songs with all of us in a room, in a more traditional band set up,” frontman Tom Smith shares in a statement.
“‘Call It In’ is one of the newest songs we worked on, it’s a song about asking for help, really, in the presence of an existential dread, finding solace and comfort in someone close, escaping the deafening noise of modern life,” he explains.
“Everything that I believe is you,” Smith declares, channeling plenty of emotion into his vocals, set alongside a layered soundscape propelled by guitar, synth, and rapidfire percussion. “You’re a lighthouse giving hope to the crew, and it all breaks down, it all breaks down / Get on your knees and kiss the ground.”
Along with sharing their new track and accompanying video, the band has confirmed a lengthy set of 2027 tour dates. The slate of shows listed below will take them to venues across the U.K. and Europe from late January to mid-March. Tickets for all freshly announced concert dates will go on sale Friday, May 1, at 10 a.m. GMT. You can find more information about the tour by visiting Editors’ official website.
