A new concert film that revisits Mitski‘s recent headlining tour in support of her acclaimed record, The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We, is heading to a theater near you. Announced today (September 8), Mitski: The Land will premiere in theaters worldwide on October 22 for a limited engagement of screenings.
Crafted by Mitski in collaboration with Trafalgar Releasing, the film offers a new perspective on the engaging live production, captured over three nights of performances at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre in September 2024. Viewers will be transported into the immersive live set, featuring impressive stage design by Andi Watson and captivating choreography by Monica Mirabile.
According to a press release, Mitski: The Land “preserves the rich, raw aura of having experienced these shows first-hand, whilst offering fans the opportunity to remember together or witness Mitski’s magic for the very first time.”
Produced by Moniker Films and Good Harbor Music in association with Working Class Films and Dead Oceans, Mitski: The Land was directed by Grant James and mixed by her longtime producer, Patrick Hyland.
“Mitski is a visionary artist and a compelling performer, and her first concert film is just as special – it’s a privilege to bring this film to cinemas and Mitski fans around the world,” Marc Allenby, CEO of Trafalgar Releasing, says in a statement.
Tickets for screenings of Mitski: The Land will go on sale Monday, September 15, via MitskiFilm.com. Fans can now sign up to receive updates about the film’s release and ticketing options here.
