The Brook & The Bluff Confirm New Album and Tour, Share ‘Super Bowl Sunday’

Nashville-based indie rockers The Brook & The Bluff have a brand new batch of music ready to share this spring. Released today (Nov. 5), “Super Bowl Sunday” offers an intriguing first taste of the band’s upcoming album, Werewolf, set for release on March 6 via Dualtone Records.

Although the groovy, guitar-driven track boasts an upbeat, easily accessible soundscape, “Super Bowl Sunday” offers plenty of lyrical depth as it explores themes of leaning into escapism over fear of the unknown.

“Do you wanna throw it all away? / Find a place to feel something / Or are we standing on our last leg / Running in circles for nothing?”

“‘Super Bowl Sunday’ is a song about falling back into a box that feels comfortable, resisting growth and staying stuck, mostly out of being plain old scared,” The Brook & The Bluff share. “It is looking at your life at a crossroads and saying something insane like ‘I’d rather watch the game with the boys’ instead of making a real decision. It’s all of that avoidance, covered up with some rippin’ guitar.”

Produced by Micah Tawlks, Werewolf features 10 new tracks, including “Super Bowl Sunday,” and was crafted during an intensive creative chapter focused on exploring themes of personal growth while evolving their sound further than ever before. The band cites influential classic rock acts like Tom Petty, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and the Eagles as inspiration while crafting the record’s still distinctly modern soundscape.

You can catch the band out on the road next year in support of Werewolf during their newly announced headlining tour, which begins in mid-March and stretches through early May.
