Kings of Leon are stripping things back and opening themselves up in their latest career era, which officially kicked off today with the announcement of their 10th studio album. Set for release on Nov. 6 via Love Tap Records, O My Beloved promises fans more intimate, unfiltered storytelling drawn from personal experience.
The 13-track record is also the band’s first fully self-produced project, reinforcing their intent to create something especially reflective of their creative vision. Although it may be a big sonic departure from the massive mainstream hits of their past, these more intricate and subdued soundscapes allow for a more direct lyrical focus.
“We have already surpassed anything we ever imagined we could do, and we’ve built something that is so special,” lead vocalist Caleb Followill shares. “I thought, wouldn’t it be beautiful to make an album that is looking back on all of the things that we’ve done and appreciating how we got here. In the songs, there’s our families, stories from our childhood, things that maybe didn’t seem that significant at the time, but the way they find their way into these songs kind of lets me realize how impactful they really were in my life.”

“As the wind blows, there goes my whole world, like a ray of sunshine,” Followill gently declares in the song’s heartfelt chorus. “I’m grateful today for my whole world, that sweet peace of mind.”
