Lord Huron returns with their second new single of 2025, offering another hint at a possible follow-up to their 2021 LP, Long Lost. Released on Friday (March 28), “Nothing I Need” offers a dreamy, country-tinged soundscape that amplifies the song’s wistful, questioning lyrics.
In a statement, frontman Ben Schneider says the song “wonders if it’s possible — within the short time you’ve got — to ever truly know what you want, if it’s worthwhile wanting anything at all, and if there’s any point in pondering what’s down the roads you didn’t take.”
“I fell in deep whеn you fell out of love with me / Now I got everything I want and I got nothing that I need,” Schneider reflects frustratedly in the track’s chugging chorus. “If I believe, will you fall back in love with me? Now I got everything I want and I got nothing that I need / I got everything I want, and I got nothing that I need.”

“Nothing I Need” arrives just weeks after the surprise release of the punchy rock-centered track “Who Laughs Last?” featuring Kristen Stewart. Although the band hasn’t yet confirmed a new full-length release is in the works, we’re keeping our fingers crossed.
Later this month, Lord Huron will hit the road for their sold-out U.S. tour celebrating the 10th anniversary of their stunning sophomore album, Strange Trails. They’ll keep the momentum rolling with a stretch of overseas dates before returning to the U.S. to perform the largest headlining shows of their career.
