Rumors have been swirling in recent weeks about a possible new full-length project in the works from beloved Midwest emo stalwarts American Football. The long-running band has added more fuel to the fire, confirming an extensive new headlining tour.

Their latest string of live dates will take them to venues across Europe and North America this summer, beginning with a performance in Denver on May 15. They’ll make their way across the U.S. and Canada, including stops in Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Seattle, Chicago, Toronto, Portland, Atlanta, Boston, and Nashville. The four-month run of stretches through the summer, winding down with a final set in Minneapolis on Aug. 16.

Indie-jazz meets J-pop artist Mei Semones, English ambient outfit Marconi Union, Los Angeles indie-rocker IAN SWEET, and Montreal’s indie-rock trio Afternoon Bike Ride will act as support on select dates noted below.

In a press release, the band also states that “in response to the deadly violence and intimidation around the country provoked by ICE, American Football will be partnering with PLUS1 to donate $£1/€1 from every ticket sold across the tour to Safe Passage International & The Illinois Coalition for Immigration & Refugee Rights; two essential organizations defending immigrant rights and supporting deportees, migrants, and refugees.”

We’ll have to wait and see if this major tour announcement is a hint of a fourth studio album coming soon, but the group has been posting a series of mysterious teaser videos on social media. The hypothetical new record would be American Football’s first LP since 2019.

Tickets for all tour dates listed below will go on sale this Friday, Feb. 6, at 10 a.m. local time. Fans can access an exclusive artist presale and purchase limited VIP upgrades beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 4, also at 10 a.m. local time. You can find more information about the shows and ticketing options by visiting American Football’s official website.
