After months of speculation from eager fans, pop hitmaker Lady Gaga has confirmed she has a brand new album on the way. Today (Jan. 27), she shared details of her seventh studio album, Mayhem, set for release on March 7 via Interscope Records.
The project promises fans a return to the punchy, stylish pop sound that dominated her early releases, catapulting her into stardom. According to a release, the record will explore “themes of chaos and transformation, celebrating music’s power to unite, provoke, and heal.”
“The album started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved,” Lady Gaga shared of her upcoming LP. She also described the creative process that led to Mayhem as one “reassembling a shattered mirror: even if you can’t put the pieces back together perfectly, you can create something beautiful and whole in its own new way.”
Although the track list has not yet been released, the multitalented artist revealed Mayhem will be composed of 14 new tracks. The LP, which was executive produced by Gaga, Michael Polansky and Andrew Watt, will follow the release of her acclaimed 2024 single, “Disease.”
On Feb. 2, Lady Gaga will debut her still-unnamed next single and its accompanying music video in a commerical break during the 2025 Grammy Awards broadcast. Gaga is nominated in two categories this year for “Die With a Smile,” her recent hit collaboration with Bruno Mars. Fans can watch the ceremony live this Sunday beginning at 8:30 p.m. on CBS.
