Another iconic indie rock album is being celebrated with a massive anniversary tour. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah will embark on an extensive world tour to mark 20 years since the release of their celebrated self-titled LP.
Set to begin on April 4 in Fort Worth, Texas, the trek offers longtime fans a chance to hear the band’s breakout album in its entirety on the live stage. Founding member Alec Ounswort, current members Todd Erk, Jonas Oesterle, and Ben Collins will visit cities across the U.S., Mexico, and Canada through mid-May. The group will also take the stage at venues in Latin and South America before heading to Europe, Japan, and Australia, closing the tour in Auckland, New Zealand on November 11.
Indie rock duo Babehoven, shoegaze outfit Knifeplay, and Peru’s La Zorra Zapata will serve as support on select dates of the tour. Concertgoers can purchase a limited deluxe vinyl reissue of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah at the merch table ahead of its official release on May 30. Along with reworked, customizable album art and stickers, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah (20th Anniversary Edition)includes the previously unreleased 2004 track “Heavy Metal.”
