Singer-songwriter and actress Noah Cyrus is returning to her roots with her upcoming sophomore album. I Want My Loved Ones to Go With Me, set for release on July 11 via RECORDS/Columbia Records, finds the 25-year-old claiming her own space within the Americana, indie folk, and country genres.
“For a long time, I couldn’t really trust in my own choices. I had to learn how to make decisions for myself and make that transition into adulthood,” Cyrus shares. “But I’ve found who I am, I know who I am, and this record shows what I had inside me all this time. This album is me.”
The 11-track LP features an eclectic mix of collaborators, including beloved folk-pop outfit Fleet Foxes, innovative indie rock singer-songwriter Bill Callahan, breakout country hitmaker Ella Langley, and pop-country heavyweight Blake Shelton. The record’s acoustic-driven soundscape serves as the backdrop for Cyrus’s reflections on the importance of family and the mysterious magic of the world around us.
“I want this album to offer fans a sense of comforting, peaceful nostalgia,” explains Cyrus. “That’s something that I feel so heavily when I listen to music. We all want to connect with our past while also being aware of the present moment. Music does that for me, and this collection of songs was made with that in mind,” she continues. “I want to evoke that feeling of a comforting friend that a song can be – and allow us all to heal.”
You can catch Cyrus on the road in support of I Want My Loved Ones to Go With Me later this year, beginning with a record release show on July 11 in Los Angeles. Her headlining North American tour will stretch through September and October, stopping in cities like Seattle, Boston, Chicago, Austin, Philadelphia, and Nashville among others.
