This year marks the 25th anniversary of Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, and the annual San Francisco music festival will be celebrating with style. On Wednesday (Sept. 10), the full 2025 roster of performers was unveiled, and features a stellar genre-spanning mix of acts set to appear during the weekend of October 3-5.

Emmylou Harris, Jeff Tweedy, Margo Price, Rosanne Cash, Rodney Crowell, Steve Earle & The Hardly Strictly Dukes, Patty Griffin, and The War & Treaty are just a few of the artists confirmed to take the stage inside Golden Gate Park. Other notable confirmed performers include Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Buddy Miller, The Felice Brothers, Lola Kirke, Cass McCombs, Hovvdy, Della Mae, and Hannah Cohen. John Prine: Songs & Souvenirs, hosted by Jason Wilber and Dave Jacques, will also spotlight the late artist’s incredible and extensive songbook.

“For 25 years, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass has been a testament to the power of music to bring people together—free, inclusive, and rooted in the spirit of community,” Sheri Sternberg, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass co-founder and Executive Producer, shares in a statement. “What started as a humble celebration of bluegrass has grown into a beloved San Francisco tradition that honors the past while embracing the future. We’re proud to carry forward the legacy of Warren Hellman and look forward to gathering once again in Golden Gate Park for a weekend of unforgettable music.”

Ahead of the official kickoff, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass will launch its anniversary celebrations with a special tribute to Emmylou Harris at The Masonic on Oct. 2. The all-star musical event will feature performances from Rodney Crowell, Margo Price, Allison Russell, Shawn Colvin, Sam Bush, and many more, backed by Harris’ legendary band, The Red Hot Dirt Ramblers. All money raised from ticket sales will be directed to Bonaparte’s Retreat, a non-profit dog rescue organization.

You can view the festival’s full list of confirmed performers below. Additional information about the festival and its accompanying anniversary events can be found by visiting Hardly Strictly Bluegrass’s official website.
