As Americans discuss and reflect on the impact and results of the first major elections since President Trump’s inauguration, Low Cut Connie has delivered a new single that serves as a timely rallying cry for change.

Released today (Nov. 5), “Settle Down” offers the perspective of a weary parent holding on to hope for humanity. The latest track from singer-songwriter and musician Adam Weiner is a call for perseverance to Americans rallying against authoritarianism, along with continued action on behalf of those targeted within the nation’s immigrant communities.

“The voice in ‘Settle Down’ is that of someone who is watching America slide into violence and corruption,” Weiner reflects in a statement. “He has witnessed militarized policing against our civilians, brutality against immigrant communities, and a rise in authoritarian censorship. He has fought many battles for human dignity, been beaten down, but does not give up the fight.”

For the moving track’s accompanying music video, Weiner recruited acclaimed photojournalist Alex Wroblewski to help create a striking visual piece that reflects this pivotal chapter in American history. The photo essay, edited by Bob Sweeney, showcases snapshots of militarized policing captured throughout recent years, starting with images Wroblewski captured in Ferguson, Mo., in 2014, along with photos taken during ICE Raids and National Guard deployments in Washington, D.C., Memphis, and Chicago earlier this year.

“This is the second video I collaborated with Adam on – we made a video five years ago for his song ‘Look What They Did’ that documented urban decay in Atlantic City, N.J.,” shares Wroblewski. “This project incorporates still pictures from over the last decade of my career as a photojournalist. The images collectively capture a more polarized and divided country politically. They document what was and is happening between protesters and police and the tension that has been felt virtually everywhere – from the streets of the suburban Midwest and American South to the steps of the U.S. Capitol and across Washington D.C.”

Alongside the single and video’s release, Low Cut Connie has also confirmed 14 new solo live shows set for next spring. His “Livin in the USA” tour kicks off on March 3 in Chicago and includes stops in New York City, Pittsburgh, and Nashville. Tickets for all dates listed below are on sale now.
