A new era has arrived for Melody’s Echo Chamber, the project of French musician Melody Prochet. Set for release on Dec. 5 via Domino, Unclouded is both a reflection on her own personal and creative evolution and a celebration of embracing the present.
The psych-pop act’s upcoming LP earned its title from a quote by influential Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki, which is as follows: “You must see with eyes unclouded by hate. See the good in that which is evil, and the evil in that which is good. Pledge yourself to neither side.“
Sven Wunder acts as co-producer and co-writer on the project, who is just one of a lengthy list of creative collaborators featured on Unclouded. Among the musicians credited on the record are Josefin Runsteen (strings), Dungen’s Reine Fiske (guitar), Love Orsan (bass), Malcolm Catto (drums), and Leon Michels.
At its core, Unclouded is rooted in optimism, which is echoed in the reflective yet hopeful lead single, “In the Stars,” which also arrived today.
“I used to feel nostalgic growing into adulthood,” explains Melody. “But now that I understand that concept of impermanence, I don’t take it as personally anymore.”
Next year, fans across the U.S. and Europe will be able to experience the sunny warmth of Unclouded live via a lengthy tour that stretches from mid-April to late May. Tickets for all dates listed below are now on sale. You can find more information about the shows by visiting Melody’s Echo Chamber’s official website.
