Modest Mouse to Set Sail on Hand-Curated Ice Cream Floats Cruise

Coming off the tail end of the 20th Anniversary of their hit album, Good News for People Who Love Bad News, indie rock superstars Modest Mouse surprised fans everywhere with Ice Cream Floats, a new music festival cruise curated entirely by the band.

Partnering with Sixthman, this 4-day cruise sails roundtrip on the Norwegian Pearl from Miami to Puerta Plata, Dominican Republic on February 5-9. The inaugural festival boasts a lineup of indie fan favorites, including Modest Mouse, Portugal. the Man, Kurt Vile and the Violators, Built to Spill, Mannequin Pussy, and more.  Passengers will not only get to see Modest Mouse perform all 3 nights but will see the first (and maybe last) Ugly Casanova set since 2002.

For those looking to escape the sound of crashing cymbals and loud guitars, Modest Mouse has prepared a slew of fun and ridiculous onboard events including an AMMA (ask Modest Mouse anything), Mouse Stardust Theater 3000 (live “brutally honest” film commentary), Storytime with Isaac Brock, and the Parade of Freaks (the name speaks for itself). And when you’re ready to hear music again, you can catch a DJ set by Modest Mouse & Friends.

Although the official presale has ended, indie fans and adventurers alike can still reserve their spot aboard the Norwegian Pearl. Music lovers can reserve their cabin with only a $100 down payment per person, now through June 5. Full details about the voyage and reservation options can be found here.

The ocean may breathe salty, but this cruise will be anything but.
