If you haven’t managed to experience the magic of a live performance from Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country yet, their new music video should convince you to change that immediately. Released today (Sept. 11), the live visual accompaniment to “Sunshine in the Rain” captures the band’s unmistakable blend of musical artistry and unpretentious showmanship.
“Some moments in life, you’re aware enough to see signs that tell you that you’re in the right place at the right time, even when life is applying pressure to you to transform you into a diamond,” Donato shares in a statement. “Destiny is at hand, and there are synchronicities to prove it. ‘Sunshine in the Rain’ is a tune that sheds inspiring light to these subtle moments to reveal the large Cosmic scale they are functioning on.”
The groovy, genre-blending track is a cut from Horizons, the third studio album by Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country, released on Aug. 22 via Retrace Music. Anchored by a fresh mix of classic honky-tonk country music and psychedelic retro rock, the record is an intriguing, unpredictable, and sonically layered listen.
Donato and his bandmates, Nathan “Sugar Legg” Aronowitz (keyboards/vocals), Will “Mustang” McGee (bass/vocals), and William “Bronco” Clark (drums/percussion), will spend the rest of this year out on the road in support of their latest LP. A full list of upcoming tour dates, including their two-night Cosmic Christmas Jam event in Nashville, is below.
