Award-winning singer-songwriter Olivia Dean is gearing up to share her sophomore album later this year. Set for release on September 26 via Capitol Records, The Art of Loving finds the 26-year-old talent examining the many facets and types of love we experience during our journeys through life.
The record’s breezy lead single, “Nice to Each Other,” offers a light and groovy introduction into her new era of artistry. Co-written by Dean and Matt Hales with production by Zach Nahome, the track delivers a polished soundscape anchored by clever lyricism.
“I don’t know where the switches are / Or where you keep the cutlery,” she admits playfully. “And I’ll probably crash your stupid car / And make your life a misery.”
“‘Nice to Each Other’ is a song about the push and pull of exploring your independence in dating,” Dean explains in a statement. “It’s about enjoying someone in the present and allowing it to be both light and meaningful. I think this song and video represents a playfulness in me that I’m excited for people to see.”

Ahead of The Art of Loving‘s release, Dean will embark on her Across the Atlantic Tour, which will make its way to venues across the U.S. and U.K. through the end of August. She’ll also join Sabrina Carpenter and Sam Fender as support on select dates of their individual headlining tours.
