Three months after the announcement of Dolly Parton‘s long-awaited new Las Vegas residency inside The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, the multi-talented artist, songwriter, actress, and entrepreneur has been forced to press pause on performing due to unspecified health issues.
“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” Parton shared in a statement posted to her social media accounts on Sunday evening (Sept. 28).
“As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures,” she continues. “As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!”
Although the 79-year-old legend kept a sense of humor about the sad news, she also relayed to fans the importance of delivering a live show that meets their expectations.
“In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show you deserve to see,” she explains. “You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you. While I’ll still be able to work on all of my projects from here in Nashville, I just need a little time to get show-ready, as they say.”
The sold-out six-date stretch of shows was originally scheduled to take place from Dec. 4 through Dec. 13, 2025, during the National Finals Rodeo. All previously announced Las Vegas concerts have now been pushed back almost an entire year to Sept. 17-26, 2026. All previously purchased tickets will be valid for the newly rescheduled dates listed below, and refunds will be available via their original point of purchase.
Although concertgoers will have to wait a little longer for Parton’s first Las Vegas residency in 32 years, she wants fans to know that she has no plans of permanently retiring from the road any time soon.
“Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet,” she concluded. “But I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding.”
