Pennsylvania-based rock band Tigers Jaw has shared another cut from their upcoming seventh album, Lost on You. Their latest track, “Ghost,” recalls a moment when one is unexpectedly confronted with someone from their past, and the reality of how much can change as time quickly passes.
“The genesis of ‘Ghost’ was a chance run-in with a person I grew up with,” vocalist and guitarist Ben Walsh shares in a statement. “A run-in that would have been warm, welcomed, and cherished at one point in my life held no significance after the slow, steady passage of time and growing apart. The quick flash of memories with this person felt like a glimpse into a past life, or like seeing a ghost. Some people don’t stay in your life forever, and that’s OK, but it’s very interesting which memories get dredged up when you see a once familiar face.”
“You arrive at the gate / And they turn you away / And you’re crushed by the weight / Of the games that they play / They deprive you of it / Then sell you a supplement.”
“Ghost” is the second single released off Tigers Jaw’s Will Yip-produced record, Lost on You, due out on March 27 via Hopeless Records. Walsh, vocalist and keys player Brianna Collins, guitarist Mark Lebiecki, bassist Colin Gorman, and drummer Teddy Roberts will be hitting the road in support of their latest project this spring.
Announced today, the 37-date tour is set to begin on March 27 in Amityville, N.Y., and includes stops in Los Angeles, Portland, Austin, Vancouver, Denver, Boston, Salt Lake City, and Chicago. California indie rockers Hot Flash Heat Wave will support the first 18 dates, with math rock outfit Pool Kids taking over as the opening act for the remaining dates noted below.
Tickets for all dates will go on sale this Friday, Jan. 9, at 10 a.m. local time. Additional information about the tour and ticketing options can be found via Tigers Jaw’s official website.
