Long-running rock outfit Taking Back Sunday will hit the road for an extensive U.S. headlining tour later this year. Announced today (April 28), the leg of new shows includes a special performance celebrating the anniversary of their hit album Louder Now.
On Oct. 14, the band will take the stage at Red Rocks Amphitheatre to celebrate 20 years since the release of Louder Now, the band’s third studio album and major label debut that spawned hit singles “MakeDamnSure“ and “Liar (It Takes One to Know One).” Former lead guitarist Fred Mascherino, who is stepping in for John Nolan on the band’s upcoming summer live dates, will again reunite with his former bandmates to help perform Louder Now in its entirety.
This one-night-only celebration comes at the tail end of the band’s slate of fall shows, which begins on Sept. 16 in Nashville, and includes stops in Brooklyn, Atlanta, Phoenix, San Diego, Milwaukee, Louisville, and Kansas City. Thrice and Saves the Day have been tapped as support for all non-festival dates noted below.
“We’ve been planning and preparing for this tour for a while,” frontman Adam Lazzara shared in a statement. “Rehearsing all the material and the arrangements we’ve worked out, I am so happy with how the band has taken shape. We also get to play a special show on a beautiful night in October at Red Rocks to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Louder Now. Who better to go out on the road to share all that with than Saves the Day and Thrice, we love those guys. Always have. So, if you’re up for a good time, that’s what we’ll be chasing.”
Fans can purchase tickets and VIP packages for all newly announced non-festival dates listed below beginning tomorrow, April 29, at 10 a.m. local time. A general onsale is set to follow this Friday, May 1, also at 10 a.m. local time.
