Multi-talented musician and songwriter Joy Oladokun has confirmed a lengthy North American headlining tour for 2025. Announced today (Sept. 30), The Blackbird Tour will take the acclaimed artist to cities across the U.S. and Canada early next year.
The trek will kick off on Jan. 16 with a performance in Minneapolis and will stop in 32 additional cities, including New York City, Austin, Seattle, and San Francisco. She’ll wrap things up with a noteworthy set at the world-renowned Ryman Auditorium in her adopted hometown of Nashville on March 27.
Oladokun’s latest set of live shows arrives ahead of Observations From a Crowded Room, her upcoming studio album, set for release on Oct. 18. Over the past few months, she’s shared four cuts from the 15-track LP, including her most recent single, “I’D MISS THE BIRDS.”
Oladokun, who will also serve as the opening act for multiple dates of Hozier’s Unreal/Unearth Tour this November, says her latest was born out of an intensive chapter of personal exploration. With Observations From a Crowded Room, the 32-year-old talent expands herself creatively more than ever before.
“This album became a way for me to write things, feel things, process things,” Oladokun shared in a statement. “Because, as the producer, I just had to sit with these songs for so long. It became really healing in a sense of, ‘I made this. I’m listening to an album that I genuinely love. All the sounds and bits and bobs came from me with the help of just an engineer.’ It was transformative. So, it started out as, ‘I quit,’ and it has ended up as a fresh start.”

A general on-sale will follow this Friday, Oct. 4, at 10 a.m. local time. $1 from every purchase will be donated to The Ally Coalition, which supports non-profit organizations working to uplift and improve the lives of LGBTQ+ youth.
