It’s official: The Rapture has returned. The edgy electro-pop outfit led by Luke Jenner is hitting the road for their first headlining tour in 15 years.
After announcing their reunion in 2019, a run of celebratory tour dates set for 2020 was canceled due to the emerging COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier this year, the group surprised fans by confirming a seemingly one-off set at Portola Festival 2025 this September. Today’s announcement appears to confirm a new chapter ahead for the band that helped usher in a new wave of dance-punk acts in the early 2000s.
“This has been a long time coming,” Jenner shares in a statement. “Years ago when I stepped away from the band I was needing time and space to piece together my life. I needed to fix my marriage, be there for my son, and ultimately work on myself. This tour marks a new chapter for me, one shaped by everything I’ve lived through and learned along the way. I’ve achieved everything I hoped to achieve through music, and now I get to use it to help anyone else who maybe needs it like I did back then.”
The Rapture’s roster of long-awaited live dates begins with a stop in Minneapolis on September 16 ahead of shows in San Francisco, Austin, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Denver, and more. Their North American leg wraps up with a performance at 9:30 Club in Washington D.C. on October 10, which is followed by a slate of overseas dates set for mid-to-late November.
Tickets for all newly announced shows listed below will go on sale this Friday, July 11, at 10 a.m. local time. You can findmore information on the tour and ticketing options by visiting The Rapture’s official website.
